Dear Instructor,

I’m delighted to invite you to the 2024 ITC National Championships.

This event will be held in the ALSAA Sports Complex, Dublin Airport, Ireland, on Sunday 24th November 2024. This venue is a 5 minute walk from the terminals at Dublin Airport and is serviced by various buses from Dublin City.

The event will be a competition judging the disciplines of Patterns, Team Patterns & Continuous Sparring.  This is strictly a ‘light contact’ competition.

All Black Belt Adult Categories (18 years and over) will start at 10am (check in/weight check 9am – 9.45am).

All other categories start after 11am (check in/weight & height check 9.45am – 10.45am).

We are also delighted to be including a ‘Veterans’ (35 years and over) section in the sparring categories.

Cost of entry is €30 and this covers all three events. This is a ‘Pre-registration’ price

Pre registration is done via your coach/instructor/club secretary.

Pre registration closes on Friday 8th November 2024, via email, by coach/instructor/club secretary to airporttkd@gmail.com

Registration ‘on the day’ is €40.

Entrants must be physically and mentally capable of competing in their relevant sections and be an active member of a martial art school/club.

No licensed professional fighters.

Please note where there are three or less competitors in one division, that division may be merged with the next division. The ITC reserves the right to combine or eliminate any division. The ITC reserves the right to refuse entry and/or remove anyone from the venue for violating any rule or procedure.

All participants must be covered by their own club/school insurance. There will be a waiver on the ‘participant card’ which must be signed by a parent (or coach acting in loco parentis) at check-in for any competitor aged 17 or under. 18 years and older may sign their own participation cards. This card must be presented to the official at the ringside table for EVERY category. Lost registration cards will cost a competitor €30 to re-register!  Any coach acting/signing in loco parentis will be declaring themselves responsible for any competitor aged 17 or under.

These waiver cards are important, in order to allow officials to confirm that competitors are in the correct section. Please make sure that your competitors take care of them.

Any ‘on the spot’ matters arising (that are not in the rules) will be decided upon by the senior referee and/or James Farrell (Airport TKD CI).  Safety and fairness will form the basis of any decisions made. Below are the rules and scoring details for the various sections.

I’m looking forward to welcoming you all to our first ITC National Championships and please don’t hesitate to contact me with any queries (airporttkd@gmail.com, 00 353 86 6776206)

Yours in Tae Kwon Do,

James Farrell – Dublin Airport TKD
